To Fair Park from Uptown

Uptown Dallas Today
Monday  September 14th DART will begin Green Line operations. You will be able to go from Cityplace, the Uptown station, to Pearl station and transfer to the Green line. Each station along this route is about 2 minutes apart.
For those of you that work at Baylor Hospital there will be a stop just for you. For those of you that like Deep Ellum there will be a stop for you. For me there is a stop at Fair Park in fact it is at the front door. Thanks DART. The MLK stop is the last stop on the Green Line for now. It too is just a hop, skip and a jump to a front gate at Fair Park.
Tickets can be had for as little as $4 per day and can be used almost anywhere DART ,excluding express bus routes, goes. DART express all day passes are $5. A regional all day pass is $7.50 for those of you that are coming from Ft Worth. Parking at the State Fair this year will be at least $10. I will let you do the math.
As you leave the tunnel , from Cityplace, remember to get off at Pearl station. Although if you live near AAC you can catch the Green line at Victory station. That is on the west side of ACC the TRE also stops at this station. When you get to Deep Ellum station check out the 38 foot Traveling Man sculpture, flickr now has many photos, a soon to be instant hit for anyone with a camera. If you need caffeine you can stop at Baylor station and partake in Its a Grind Coffeehouse. A very good place I would recommend.
We get to enjoy the new short Green line for about a year. In December 2010 Dart will complete the Green line and you will be able to connect with the A Train in Carrollton and continue to Downtown Denton. This should be a hit with the UNT students.
Soon you may not need a car in Dallas !

That will be nice when you can go to Denton and visit that antique and resale shop to get Ree some more of those model horses. We haven't seen great prices like those since then. Too bad we don't live closer. ;-)
